Stunning new public space.
Outstanding design, combining exceptional buildings interspersed by public plazas,
emphasises the spaciousness of the new quarter. The sweeping, tree-lined Europaallee
forms the spine of the design and together with two new plazas “Le-Corbusier-Platz” and
“Gustav-Gull-Platz”, will produce exceptional new areas of public space. Such public space
will enhance the amenity value of the area and make it an attractive place for people to
visit and linger between the shops and restaurants of the area.

Le-Corbusier-Platz
This new plaza will be marked by the characteristic structure of the Sihlquai-Passage (arcade), one of the entrances / exits for Zurich’s main and commuter railway stations. The Sihlquai-Passage will guide visitors towards the new quarter and act as a distinctive entrance to the new area. The plaza will be lit by tall lamp posts creating an attractive lighting effect at night.
Gustav-Gull-Platz
While the busy Le-Corbusier-Platz is located at the top end of Europaallee, Gustav-Gull-Platz marks its western end. Surrounded by trees, restaurants and shops, it offers the perfect place to relax. Its spaciousness will be framed by the high buildings surrounding the plaza and at its centre will be a small reflecting pool, which will add to the peaceful feel of this special place.
